You may have seen my post last week about making desert landform videos with my students. Well here is the first entry on the formation of Mesas and Buttes! Well done to Bayley and Emilie for all the hard work they put into this (it's made up of over 500 photos!).
They first made all the images and labels. Then they made the animation using the PicPac app on a smart phone that was held onto a clamp stand (that we borrowed from the Science department) using elastic bands. They blue-tacked the A3 background paper into place to make sure it didn't move. In total we spent two hour and a half lessons on this and anyone who was not done had homework time to finish off. I also plan to have a lesson where they watch each other's videos and have some exam practice.
I'm pretty impressed with the outcome! Please leave a comment to tell us what you think, or give them a thumbs up on YouTube if you like it! Hopefully I will be sharing some more in a few days time!
