Stuff You Should Know

Commuting, cleaning, cooking... all those things that seem to take so much time yet you don't seem to be achieving much, or having much fun! To make these times more productive (and more interesting, btw I'm talking about your routine cooking dinner rather than baking a nice cake) I like to listen to podcasts.

You may have heard of the website www.howstuffworks.com. I've actually used it quite a bit in the past but never realised (until I downloaded Podcast Addict) that they have a whole series of podcasts explaining all sorts of different topics from female body hair and werewolves to computer viruses and and antibiotics. One I've been listening to is 'Stuff You Should Know'.

There are also some great geography topics, which is a great way to expand your geographical knowledge, especially for auditory learners. Rather than research a topic by reading (which, let's face it, can be pretty tedious at times) why not find a podcast on it instead and listen to it on your way to work/college - get two things done at once!

Here are some of my favourites so far:

Geothermal Energy

Droughts

Ocean Currents

Volcanoes

Landslides

Maps

Peak Oil

Desertification

Population Growth
